Microblading, also known as “3-D brow tattooing”, is so much more than just giving a tattoo – it is the art of using a special blade to create intricate, hair-like strokes to give the illusion of having beautifully full, natural eyebrows.
This treatment is the latest and greatest in the beauty and aesthetics industry, sweeping the nation with it’s incredible results and ability to fool everyone’s eyes.
Here are some FAQ’s to help you better understand this fantastic procedure:
Q: Does it hurt like a real tattoo?
A: Our Microblading Specialist will simply numb your brow area to reduce any potential pain.
Many patients say that the pain level is a 2 out of 10, and some even fall asleep during the process!
Q: How is the healing process?
A: Not bad at all. For the first 5-7 days, it is important not to sweat or get your brows completely wet. You must use an antibiotic ointment (provided) for the first 24 hrs then switch to applying Aquaphor for the next 6 days.
Stay out of direct sunlight and do not apply brow makeup (not that you’d need it) for at least 7 days and only touch the healing area with freshly-washed hands.
Make sure to tell the specialist if you have extremely sensitive skin and cannot use certain facial cleansers.
Q: How long does it last?
A: Depending on the oiliness of your skin, the treatment can last 6 months to a year (and sometimes longer)!
The reason it is only semi-permanent is because microblading ink is only deposited in the first two layers of your epidermis, unlike normal tattooing, which penetrates down to 7 layers of the skin.
Your 4 week touch up to perfect your brow color and shape is included in the initial price. We suggest touching up your brows every 6 months to keep them fresh and flawless.
Q: How long does the session take?
A: Your first session should take 2-3 hrs. The beginning of the session will involve the technician shaping and styling your future fabulous brows and perfecting the pigment of the ink.
After your approval, you will be properly numbed and the procedure will begin.Your 4 week follow-up will typically take over 1 hour.
Q: Can I go back to work right after my session?
A: Absolutely! You may be mildly itchy, but that will subside in a few hours. Just make sure you keep on your ointment and you are not sweating, getting wet, or in the sun.
When all of your co-workers ask how your eyebrows look so stunning, it is important to send them to Thin MD Med Spa to get micro bladed as well (this is a rule)!

A: Before any procedure, make sure to do your research to ensure that this is definitely something you want done. Although most patients are overjoyed when they see their finished brows, a few may be shocked and not used to their new look.
