What is the Procedure for IPL Photofacials?

A gel will be applied to your skin prior to the start of treatment to keep it cool and to ensure your comfort. Via a hand-held device, intense laser light energy will be delivered directly into the skin in short pulses. Treatments can last only a few minutes up to an hour depending on the size of the treatment area. Multiple treatments are recommended to achieve optimum results.

How does it work?

IPL Photofacial is Intense Pulsed Light that penetrates deep into the skin causing the collagen and blood vessels below the epidermis to constrict, reducing redness, age spots, dark spots and sun damage. The pigment imperfections then absorb the light and begin moving up and out of the skin. The spots turn into a coffee-ground-like substance and flake off, leaving beautiful, radiant skin.

The length of treatment is dependent on the number of areas being treated and the number of passes the aesthetician makes on the area. For reference, getting an IPL Photofacial on the face only would take about 45 minutes

How long do IPL Photofacial results last?

Photofacial results perpetually improve over time, with best results being seen three months after the last treatment.
